Zakiya Carr Johnson
Zakiya Carr Johnson is a subject matter expert in social inclusion and diversity with extensive experience in international development and non-governmental and government relations. She has over 20 years of experience shaping policy to include human rights, gender equity and racial equality considerations in the Americas. Prior to launching ODARA Solutions, a social impact consulting firm, she served as Senior Advisor and Director of the Race, Ethnicity and Social Inclusion Unit at the U.S. Department of State. She is proud to have served as International and Youth Adviser at Geledés-Instituto da Mulher Negra (1999-2002). Ms. Carr Johnson studied for an M.A in International Relations at Syracuse University, and earned a B.A in Communications and Spanish at Howard University.
