Uma lista publicada pela Apple Music elegeu os 100 melhores álbuns de todos os tempos. Em primeiro lugar, a escolha foi para ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’, de Lauryn Hill, lançado em 1998 e vencedor de Melhor Álbum do Ano no Grammy de 1999.
Segundo a Apple, a lista foi criada por um ‘time de especialistas’ ao lado de artistas como Maren Morris, Pharrell Williams, J Balvin, Charli XCX, Mark Hoppus, Honey Dijon e Nia Archives, além de compositores, produtores e profissionais da indústria. A seleção não tem relação com números de streams.
O ranking foi anunciado no último dia 13 de maio pela empresa, revelando 10 discos a cada novo dia. Ela foi marcada por polêmicas, especialmente por escolhas de lançamentos recentes, como ‘SOS’, de SZA, publicado em 2022. O álbum mais antigo da lista é ‘Kind of Blue’, de Miles Davis, de 1959.
Outra crítica foi por não ter nenhum disco que não seja cantado em inglês ou por algum artista fora da Inglaterra ou Estados Unidos.
Lauryn Hill se apresentará em São Paulo no dia 13 de julho, no festival Chic Show, que celebra os 50 anos da black music pelo mundo. O show acontece no Allianz Parque, em São Paulo
Apenas dois artistas e duas bandas se repetiram com duas obras na lista: The Beatles, Radiohead, Prince e Beyoncé.
